Begin anew

Mon Feb 9, 2009, 4:33 PM
So, over a year later, I'm back. New camera, new car, new computers, new people, new job. A lot of other new stuff as well.

So, getting back to real photography. Picked up a Canon 400D and a few lenses, starting to break back into this whole fancy pants camera thing. Fairly tempted to clear out a lot of my old stuff as well, but I dunno yet. Hate destroying past things, even if they are rubbish.

Car is a 2000 Toyota MR-S, which still brings a smile to my face every time I drive the damn thing.

Finally sticking to my degree, and just gonna be done with it. No more of this changing my mind and being indecisive.

Anyhow, I should be putting work up here regularly again, with it being so much easier having a dSLR instead of SLR and trying to scan in slides or prints...

I live, imagine that

Well, its been quite a while since I have put anything up here. And some big things have been going on to say the least. Starting with a set of realizations.

Photography for me, while I love it, is better left a hobby I feel. It would keep me from thinking of it as a chore, which my classes made me do at times.

So what do I plan to do now? Mechanical engineering. I once planned to major in Astrophysics, but it was not applied enough. M.E. however, is applied and seems to work better with the way my mind sees things.

I plan to put some more work up soon, but I haven't had the time, or the... creative impulse for a piece. When I have something, it'll go here.

Interview; Friends; Good stuff

Mon Jun 20, 2005, 2:19 AM
Well, going to see that show has turned out to have been an extremely good idea. Not only did I manage to get an interview to see if I can have some prints hanging the 'Rock Coffee' shop, I managed to make quite a few friends.

So time to get some more stuff printed up and formated for a physical portfolio looking over.

Some other stuff has come to light that has put stuff into perspective, and made my mind a bit more at ease. So thats that.

I have no clear cut idea when I am gonna be able to get a new camera, as things keep popping up that I have to deal with. So stuck with the noise happy DC4800 for now :S

And with that, I think I am out for the night.

Prints up; Oh roadkill...

Sat Jun 18, 2005, 1:44 AM
So yeah, I got all my frames together, put the prints in them, and then handed them over to the cafe owner. They'll be on the wall tomorrow :) Which will be nice.

Then I meet up with a friend, hung out for a bit. Had an interesting time, and a few shots that might be worth working on.

But on the way home, I managed to hit a skunk at 65MPH. Messed up the front air dam on my car. But worse yet, it now smells like a skunk :x

So I get to clean that up. Super.

Tomorrow... well, today I guess now, I'm handing over some prints for my Uncle and Aunt's 25th anniversery. I'm hoping those go over well.

Then local music event later that evening; symphonic Rock anyone? :o So that should be eventful. Not sure what else is going on yet. Oh well.

Ending; Starting

One thing ends, another begins.

School just got out for the most part. My pass fail prediction was kinda correct. I'm getting a "Z" in two classes, which means no grade, and no credits. Note to self, don't work ass off with busy job in future.

A job came up for me possibly helping shoot weddings. 10-20 hours a week it seems, flexible. Could work while I progress on my understanding of pictures and start getting back into graphic design stuffs.

I've got some ideas I want to mess with for shooting soon here as well. Some kinda inner demon/shadows kinda things I guess. Hoping to get the stuff I need to shoot these images/ideas. Could turn out very neat.

I get to have my work hanging up at the local cafe I like so much, Encore. Got one of the frames for 8 by 10 prints today, gonna see how this style works on the wall, then buy the other frames depending on how it looks. BTW, cute girls work at Pier 1 Imports ;)

Now, just to get some more money in my pocket. But thats life for ya.
